If you're getting over a K$ on your refund, you're haveing WAY to much witheld. It's not a savings account, it's you giving the govt. an intrest free loan. I think they get enough of my money without me having to loan them more.
:yeahthat: You can change your withholding status throughout the year, too. :yay:

I don't care if they have my money interest-free all year. I DO care if I owe them a dime come tax time. I got burned so badly on taxes for many years, that not having to pay, even if it means letting 'em have too much during the year, is the way to go for me. And this year the refund means more to us than usual, because I'm STILL not on contract with the Government, because their contract idiots are dragging their feet and being obstructionists as usual. So yes, I'll take the $1350 with a smile. It'll pay a couple of bills.

In a perfect world, you shouldn't owe or get a refund. Why should the Federal Government keep your money (in your case, thousands) w/out paying you interest on it?

Exactly, my father taught me that if you owe no more than fifty dollars or get a refund of no more than fifty dollars than you are doing good. I can put that extra money each week in an account where I can earn a few cents on it. :howdy:
