Woman Overdoses in Checkers Drive-Thru in Lexington Park

On Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at approximately 3:05 p.m, police fire and rescue personnel responded to the Checkers Fast Food Restaurant on Great Mills Road, and South Essex Drive, for the reported motor vehicle accident with one person unconscious.

Crews arrived on scene to find a single vehicle in the drive-thru of Checkers with police advising it was possibly an overdose.

The single female patient was found unconscious in a Ford Ranger pick-up truck, and received one dose of Naloxone (Narcan) by Deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriffs Office, and was conscious, alert and talking when emergency services arrived.

The patient signed patient care refusal form from EMS, and was transported by The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office away from the scene.

They need to stop reviving these people. Or limit it to one incident - after that you get left to die.

Its ridiculous, she signs a piece of paper, the cops escort her off, like nothing happened. I'd bet dollars to doughnuts she went out for another hit of whatever she overdosed on.

I'm beginning to feel that way too. One of my old neighbors for example, revived and taken to the hospital 3 times (that I know of) in a few months. Another one twice in a month (that I know of). My compassion is pretty much gone for these people.

I don't see any posts started by our resident psychotic today. Could it possibly be her?

What I'd really prefer is that people don't get addicted to this stuff in the first place, or that serious measures are taken to get them off it. I'm not sure, though, how you detox someone and get them off drugs if they don't want to.

I believe she went to jail for driving under the influence of narcotics..

"The patient signed patient care refusal form from EMS, and was transported by The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office away from the scene."

Hopefully she was, but, it doesnt state that in the article.

She was awake enough to tell the ems folks she didn't need them. If she wasn't going to jail she would have driven her truck away from the scene. She was driving under the influence.
She was going to jail..

Exactly and help is there. There's the methadone clinic in Callaway (I assume it's still there) that one of these people was going to for awhile but fell back into using. You would think overdosing over and over again and being near death would scare someone enough to stop.

I worked years back with a few guys that stopped six morning a week at the Waldorf methadone clinic. What a joke, they would be so ####ed up they would nod out leaning against their truck waiting for the boss to open the shop up. Methadone is a longer better high than crystal meth or heroin is what they told me.
Wanna guess what drugs they did on Sunday when the clinic wasn't open?

Thats the problem, if they overdose, they know they will be given a hit of narcam and come right out of it.

It depends, narcan stays with you for 90 minutes, you have to wait it out to get high again.

They should've been doing Crystal Meth they wouldn't have been nodding out. They would've been working around the clock. :lmao:
