The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the identity of the person shown in a theft investigation. On Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 6:10 pm and again on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 2:55 pm, the suspect scanned items at the self-checkout register at the California Walmart store, but did not pay for the merchandise. The suspect then proceeded past the last point of sale when he was stopped by loss prevention staff. The suspect fled the store on both occasions before he could be identified.
