In Memory of Miss Delia

Hate to be a downer to every one today.....but Miss Delia did not make it. We went to visit her and got back a little while ago. She progressively got worse today and they are suspecting rabies on top of the neurological problems. She began throwing herself around in her cage and seizing and was basically in a crazed state. We got to see her but her mind was no longer with us. She hurt herself pretty badly in her cage during her rages so as hard as this has all been it made our decision that much easier, we don't want her suffering any longer or doing any more harm to herself. The vet said this was the most loving decision we could make for her. I appreciate all of your words and care, and please love your kitties a little more tonight for me and be thankful for them.

What a beautiful cat. Are they going to test her for rabies?

How sad. I'm sorry about your little friend.

That was the right thing to do but it doesn't make it any easier. I'm so sorry for your loss. :huggy:

They are testing for rabies and we should hear back if it's positive. She had the rabies vaccination so I'm really praying that couldn't be it. The vet said the symptoms she was showing could've been related to something neurological but without the scans they had no idea what was going on in her brain. I just couldn't see putting her through anything else, even though I'm so curious to know what really happened to her. I know that with humans brain aneurisms can happen in an instant, and that is what I'm guessing happened with her, but to think it could've been from falling out of a tree, or being bitten by something just breaks my heart. Today is a better day, just knowing she's in a great place now makes it a little easier to deal with. Again thank you all for your words of wisdom.

Some folks who’ve had Near Death Experiences actually report seeing dogs and cats in “heaven”.
