That's sad. Does the pup have a fighting chance? I hit a squirrel once. It happened so fast and I just caught it out of the corner of my eye. Didn't feel a bump or anything but was afraid it was a kitten. I turned around and went back to make sure. If the person was driving a bigger size car or SUV, I could see where they might not have realized they hit the little pomeranian. If they did realize it and drove off, shame on them![/QUOTE]
I drive an Expedition. I hit a squirrel on my way to work a couple days ago and I could feel that. If I felt that I'm pretty sure I would have felt a dog. Hopefully the dog will be ok. Hubby said when he was in high school, he was on the bus when it ran over a dog. They yelled to her what happened. She proceeded to put the bus in reverse and run the dog over a second time while trying to back up to see what happened. Unfortunately the kids who owned the dog were right there when it happened. He laughs (now) everytime he tells this story.
