The guy riding around on base, gray BMW sport bike, kahki's, nylon flight jacket and a white helmet. Please tell him the helmet will work much better if you fasten the chin strap! I've seen him twice this week without his helmet fastened.

No, it wasn't Bob. His bike is silver, and his flip-up helmet is burgundy. But more importantly, I have his back wheel in the back of my truck getting ready to get a new tire mounted on it tomorrow. It'd be really difficult for him to ride his bike with out the rear tire.

I would guess no, but I think it should be legal to ride without a helmet or seatbelts.

Can't find it right now, but I believe the law says either "properly worn" or "securely fastened"

This is just for on base.

(1) Properly fastened (under the chin) protective helmet that meets or
exceeds the U.S. Department of Transportation standards. It is recommended that a minimum of four square inches of retro-reflective material be attached to the back and each side of the helmet.

He's got an extra bike in the garage. It's a gorgeous moutain bike. It'd take him a little longer to get to work on this bike than on his motorcycle, but he ain't getting another motorcycle.
