I think you took his/her reply a lot too seriously - laugh it off and apologize. We're a little more laid back than that here. And it's not nice to flame people like that.

Where is everyone? The Drive through the city this AM was clear-sailing all the. Not an accident, not a breakdown, not a tieup, not a slow-down (now I've jinxed it). Good morning all :howdy:

You just had to jinx my commute in this morning, didn't you- :burning:

JAZZ.. how was your trip?? What did you get to go see or do?? Details, I want details!!

Seriously hope you had a fun trip and got to enjoy yourself!
 I'm finally back to the land of the living. I finally crashed about 3 this morning. We had an absolute blast but didn't get to do as much as I hoped and never made it to Boston.

We left Easton around 5:30 on Friday night and drove almost straight through to New Hampshire. NO traffic except for one accident on 95 through the NYC area. We saw four or five different fireworks displays on the way up. We made it to Salem, NH about 2 in the morning. My sister's daughter-in-law wanted to stay with her hubby at the racetrack, so we dropped her off at where he was staying and went to the hotel to crash.

On Saturday morning, we went back to the track to see the horses and how sis's daughter-in-law made out. One of the horses adopted me and didn't want me to leave. We decided to explore Salem, Massachusetts, home of the infamous witch trials in 1692 and got there around noon. Lots of walking and exploring various attractions, some VERY kitschy and others quite fascinating and informative. We finished up at a recreation of a tall ship called The Friendship - it was absolutely amazing to see how the people used to go to the sea. One thing we noticed in Salem - just about EVERYTHING closes at 5. This seemed to be the case everywhere else we went, too. Afterwards, we went back to Salem, NH and took the kids out to dinner and drinks.

Sunday, one of the horses was racing in the first race. We went to the track and I got a behind-the-scenes tour of the racetrack. We watched him come in DEAD last  then went off to explore America's Stonehenge. What an awesome and spiritual place! It was built at least 4,000 years ago but for what exact purpose is unknown. Sis was fascinated by the alpacas (they look kind of like a llama) and the abundance of chipmunks. We took off and explored some of the New Hampshire countryside. We took the kids out to dinner again and then decided to relax at the hotel and watch a movie. I didn't make it. :snooze:

Monday, we first collected the daughter-in-law from the track, said goodbye to the horses, and a sidetrip to the local mall so sis's son could scam her out of buying more Boston Red Sox souvenirs. :lmao: On the way back and on a whim, sis and I decided to see if we could find out old home in Millbury. We tried on our own but couldn't, so finally stopped to ask directions. Amazingly, the store owner KNEW our old neighbors and gave us directions exactly to the house! We drove by and snapped a couple of pictures, shook our heads at the changes made to the house our grandfather had built. We then drove down the main road further to see the school we used to go to, which was amazingly still standing although it was no longer a school and took some more pictures. The small town we remembered was no more. :ohwell:

We arrived back in Easton just in time to see most of the fireworks. I left around 10:30, hit only local traffic exiting the fireworks display, and cruised home without incident, but so hyped up on driving and caffeine I couldn't sleep. I finally crashed around 3 and got up around 10. Now to recover from the weekend.

All in all, a fabulous weekend with the most gorgeous weather I can EVER remember in July. :yay:

 How the heck do you think I feel? We went through 7 states to and fro, and put over 1200 miles on the beautiful Ford Taurus rental car in the lovely seafoam green color. :twitch: Damn thing couldn't get out of its own way.

I'm SO glad I decided to take today off to recover. :yay:
