Having Fun!
A thatched cottage in/near Galway, Ireland. Unfortunately, hubby does not agree. He's all for very rural northwestern PA. I don't like to be cold.

We have a few years (not many) before we have to figure out a compromise. I could handle a log cabin in the woods somewhere in PA (they don't tax retirement pensions, at least not yet) with a stream/river/lake nearby, but I'd need a vacation escape somewhere warm with a beach, too.

It will certainly be interesting....

My preference would be Scotland; husband wants to go back to Colorado, and my second choice is New England, but I do not want to separate myself from my children, and (future) grandchildren; where it would be a twice a year visit, or so. That happened to me, and I separated from my parents (Texas) to move to Maryland (which was not a necessitated move). They/I/us missed so much in what life is truly about. I am sure wherever my children end up, I will be happy with where I live. It has to be low maintenance, however. I do know a lot of members here had no choice about where they were located/relocated. I am just saying I won't repeat what I did to where I/they/us missed out on so much.

Being raised in the South, I was spoiled here for having an actual autumn/winter, which I truly love. I hope I do not have to give that up, but I will for the cause, if necessary.
