If you have taken a child to a restaurant...

It also helps to match up your restaurant with child(ren) mood at the given time and to go at off times so there are fewer other customers to bother. As a mom I get sometimes you can not control all of your environment especially if you are meeting other people but sometimes it is just worth grabbing your kids a happy meal on the way and letting them just have desert at the restaurant.

I've never taken food to a restaurant from another establishment.

I understand the reasoning behind it, but to me its rude and i wouldn't do it myself. I'm not sure how the restaurant owners feel about it though

Psst...I'm pretty sure that she meant that she let him/her eat it BEFORE they got to the restaurant.

I've seen it a few times, kids sitting at the table with a happy meal in a restaurant that is not McDonald's. It's usually in a place that doesn't have a lot of choices for kids.

I honestly think that it's against Health Department rules to allow that to happen.

Also, some of those restaurants do not have kid menu options for a reason...they are not family restaurants. I wish that this area offered restaurants that either did not allow children or segregated families to a soundproof side of the restaurant.

I've seen it in places with a kid's menu, but that wasn't here. That's how some people placate picky eaters

I meant for them to eat it in the car on the way there. I always just assumed it was a health code violation to bring outside food into a restaurant. I also have yet to meet a kid no matter how well behaved they are that can sit and wait patiently when they are hungry especially if surrounding tables have food.

When ever I take little man out to eat with us I always bring food from home for him to munch on until whatever we order him arrives with our dinner.

Speaking of raisins you would think they would sell the ones in raisin bran by the box full.

Are we talking little snacks like raisins or prepared food?

Usually one of those little lunchables with the cut up ham and cheese and small ritz.Or a banana or cheerios... No one has ever said anything to me. I figure as long as we order him something off their menu even if we know he won't eat it no big deal they still make money and my son eats...

I bring snacks. Crackers, cheerios, small finger food type things. I imagine they'd rather have a happy toddler than one screeching because he's starving.

Why not give then the snack before you go to the restaraunt? I guess I just have refused to cater to my kids like that. Plus every restaurant I've ever been to offers appetizers, free bread, or crackers. Then again, I've so rarely taken them out to eat. When I do, I take them where I know they like the food so I can have an enjoyable time with them.

I bring spiderman coloring books and crayons. :coffee:

...and raisins...and sometimes popcorn and apples...or cereal...pretzels have made an appearance too...

Yeah, I don't see anything wrong with this. In fact I don't think I know a parent who doesn't do this

Not sure about the health codes mentioned. It's news to me, and it's never been an issue for me or anyone else that I know.

I would like to see the restaurant try to take away the baby's raisins... I guaran-####ing-tee they would give them back within seconds... :coffee:
