iFile new? Anyone used it yet?

Hello,

Has anyone ever used the ifile MD personal tax site to file their state taxes? If so about how long does it take a direct deposit refund to process. I file opened Tuesday Morning (1/13) and I filed that late morning. I was hoping if I was an early filer I'd get my refund faster...

Has anyone ever had an issue using the site in the past or receiving a refund in a timely manner?

I used it last year and got my money less than a week. I got direct deposit, and I also filed mine Tues. night so im guessing the money should be in my account Fri. or Mon. at the latest.

Oh ok, I was a bit leery about using ifile, I've always used TurboTax for the past 6 or 7 years it has to be, just happened to come across the MD comptroller site and see the i file free option.

Though I am a little concerned that when I check the status it says they have not received processing info for my taxes, but when I log into to the ifile account it gives me a confirmation number. I guess if I don't see anything by next week I'll call the tax number for assistance.

Does it say your return has been accepted ? If so it should say you will get your money in 3-5 days. If you don't get it by Tues. I would call them. Im gonna keep you posted, I will let you know when I get mine since we filed on the same day.

Keep in mind it has only been three business days since you filed. No bank that I am aware of direct deposits funds on a Saturday and since today all banks are closed, the eariest you are looking at getting your funds will most likely be Wednesday.

I filed last Tuesday also. Status shows it is being processed. I am hoping for a direct deposit tomorrow. Usually, MD is really fast.

Good question, I do not know what tomorrow's deal will be with the banks...I hope they are open, but if gov has the day off...who knows. I'll check tomorrow but I am looking for Wed to be the day...hopefully...lol

If I remember correct or was told the right information. The state sends out checks on a certain day or two each week, I believe the irs does the same. It might also matter as far as when checks are cut.

Last year I did my taxes on a tuesday or wednsday and did a coworkers a few days later that week. We got our state taxes the same day the following week which i believe is because the state cut the checks on Tuesday (or whatever day it was). Even though we both got direct deposit and not actual checks, it might have to do if they send money out on a specific day each week.

I am pretty sure this is how the IRS does it not sure about state. But I do remember it taking less than 7 days.

That is possible too, I know the irs has a refund cycle and from the looks of it, checks/ direct deposits are done fridays only...

In anycase, I hope Monday being a holiday is not going to throw things off too too much...

I remember a few years back when I was getting a paper check refund you only got state on Mon. and I think fed. on Sat. Last year I got my direct deposit in 4 days. My accounts hasn't had any activity since Thur. and I have automatic bill payments that should have been processed so maybe tomorrow folks.

Stillllll waiting...I checked the account this morning...no luck...I am "due" to get my federal refund Jan 30th...with the MD delay I can only imagine that the fed direct deposit could be 'off' too...

If Md state refunds are like the feds and "only" deposit on a certain day, maybe we have to wait until next Monday (if Monday is the day).

If there were a problem wouldn't they indicate it by now? Who knows! lol

My federal is due on the 30th also. Im spoke with a friend of mine this morning and she stated that for the last two years her bank didn't post her refund until after 1pm...Keep your fingers crossed !!!:tap:

My federal deposit is the same day - the 30th.

Maryland just seems to be running later than past years on their deposits. Hopefully tomorrow. I feel better knowing nobody has received theirs yet. I started thinking something was wrong.

For those of you who are expecting a federal refund on the 30th, have you had any luck getting status information on the IRS Where's My Refund site? I filed federal on the 16th and TT sent an email stating it was accepted and that the refund should be direct deposited on 1/30, but the IRS website is not showing any information.
