I saw this on the news last night. The owners of the restaurant were saying 1/2 of their staff were afraid to come back to work. If you have your papers showing you're an American citizen, whats there to be afraid of? Honestly, if these businesses have illegals working for them, they should be fined up the ying yang!

Exactly. I9’s are nothing new. I was processing them back in the 80’s.

I do know someone personally who both supports Trump AND hired illegal aliens (he's a commercial greenhouse). He felt like it gave his competitors an unfair edge since they were hiring illegals and their prices reflected that. He much prefers it that *nobody* hires cheap illegal labor.

It's like people who take advantage of tax breaks that they would support repealing. Since it's legal, or at least unenforced, why not?

Also kind of like how I think Social Security was a stupid idea that needs to be phased out, but I want what's coming to me. I'd take a SS buyout in a second.
