In My Opinion
well thanks for thinking i should be worrying about studying, but i need to go to the gym over the summer, so i need to get a car before the summer, plus if i get money i can buy new clothes. I have like one shirt for every day of the week and 3 pants with shorts that don't fit, so i'm pretty relying on getting a job
I know this is a stupid question but

how are you going to dress for work?

when did they reduce premiums for teens?

From what I've seen you can get some small discounts for good grades and having completed a driving course, but the cost is still insane, because this area and the D.C area in general has some of the worst accident rates in the nation.

Son you should have started looking long before now if you plan on getting a car. They ain't free ya know, you are going to have to put it through inspection and keep insurance on it. Since your a teenager I suggest full coverage. Try pizza joints, McDonald's, Burger King, Checker's, Wendy's and you better work your butt off between now and then just to get enough money to even look at a car. Sorry to hit you with the hard truth but that's they way it is.

Okay, If you're "for real" and not an MPD trolling for kicks, CHECK THE CLASSIFIEDS -- FOOD STORES ALWAYS NEED SHIFT WORK -- FAST FOOD JOINTS ALWAYS NEED HELP!! Good Luck!! :huggy:

Well, still at minimum wage you are going to have to work your butt off. You do have a good head start but in this economy good luck selling your TRX. :howdy:

not sure yet, but i would still need to talk to an insurance person to get educated about it before i sign up

I would suggest you stop everything and do that. I don't think you're going to like what they tell you, and it may cause you to rearrange your plans.

i can work everyday.

Does anyone know a place that is hiring in St. Mary's county, preferably Mechanicsville.

As a small business owner (in Calvert- and sorry I don't need help) let me give you some pointers...you only have ONE chance at a first impression. Make it good. Be polite and sincere where you apply. Be familiar with the places you apply at and try to make a connection. I own a pet related store. If someone comes in and walks through the store and states that they love animals (and their pets) and would like to work and learn more (if I were hiring) I would be very interested! Most people step one foot in the door, ask for an application or if I am hiring and walk out when I say no. Usually there is no "Hello" or even friendliness. Just an expectation that I am going to give an application and would even consider hiring them if they took the time to fill it out. I am not McDonalds!
I have seen enough belly buttons, cleavage, tattooes, facial piercings, black goth make up and hair and even a belt buckle that said "don't snitch" and have to say- I just don't even think so no matter what!!!
The above things are not what I want to represent me and the business I founded in 2002. Even if you are the most solid and honest person around, it is not an image I am comfortable with. Sorry!
The person I have working for me is responsible for and trustworthy of handling money and making decisions when I am not present. The person I have working for me cares about my business and wants it to thrive. Hands on and knowledgeable. I do not take someone seriously if they demand an application not giving a sh^t how they look or represent themselves initially. Even if a person has no work experience, having a letter of introduction would impress me! A real and genuine interest would make me notice them.

You may find a plant nursery or someplace to do manual labor. Be anxious and willing to learn. Be willing to follow directions and/ or take initiative when things are slow. Make yourself valuable and useful.
...and good luck!

Call and get the quote. I really believe you have no idea what it is going to cost. It's expensive. Maybe someone here paying for a teenager now can share a number and car type.

Throw a number at us in regards to what you think you're insurance is going to cost?
