1-2 year old (haven't decided exactly which one I'm getting (I want all three that I like), It's rescue, MAGDRL ... One is a fawn, one is merle, and one is harlequin. It all depends on how the phone interview goes and we decide which one will fit best with our household. 3 dogs and a cat, all of whom get along wonderfully.

I've seen a few of the marbled (first pic) ones at the dog park here. They're so sweet ... like big dumb dogs, but not really dumb; they just have that look.

We had a great dane exactly like the one on the bottom, his ears weren't cropped. He was the best. His name was Sampson.

Haven't met them yet, #3 is number 1 on my list to adopt. I found out about the rescue over the weekend. All of our animals are rescue. I always prefer to get rescue animals because they need homes too, it's much better to save a dog rather than getting one from a pet store or puppy mill.

Have you seen Red and Blue who look like lab/dane mixes that are in foster through SMAWL? They are brothers who were rescued from Hurricane Katrena and are awesome. They need good homes and are wonderful dogs too. They are house and crate trained. About 105lbs each and neutered. They would do well seperately as their high energy feeds off each other, but apart they are totally laid back.

I haven't. I wish I could, but my mother only wants females. Our house is a whole lot of estrogen. The only other male other than me is a little chihuahua...lol

How cool! I love Great Danes and think that someday I'd like to have one, but that will have to wait till I'm down a few dogs.

Rescue is definitely the way to go.
