So far ... so good. I have a guy doing most of the installation so I don't jack up my back again, but it's not all that painful.

Yes, there are grooves in it. It's handscraped teak flooring, and it's supposed to have that rustic/worn look to it. Shiat's hard as all get out, too! I have NO worries about it wearing. I've been smacking it with a hammer, lining up boards, etc., and it's taking a beating like nobody's bidness. :yay:

Nice. :yay: Crabby has got wood! :jet:

Very nice! I bet it's going to look fantastic once you get your furniture back in there.

But wait, there's more...
I'm gonna have to repaint, first. :ohwell: There are a couple of scuff marks from where I got a little swing-happy with the mallet. :jet: It'll probably be the same color though; maybe a tad lighter. Darker floor + darker walls would make it seem too small in there. But overall, I love it! :yay:

Can I get some opinions from you interior design types? Like I said, I'm going to have to repaint. I'd like to do some sort of accent color or wall in the room. Given the new flooring color, and the room as it is (otherwise), what suggestions do you have?

The majority of the color will need to be light since the room isn't huge (12x20), and there's a lot of natural light, but it's shaded so not too bright. But I'm thinking one accent wall color wouldn't shrink it too much. :tap:

Oh yea, and remember, it'll be the off-white, ###-catching leather couch/sectional in there vs. what that pictures shows.

If it were me, I'd go with a sage green or a terra cotta. Something muted but with enough color to catch your eye.

:yeahthat: You already have enough of the red family so I'd say you need a different color to bring out the room. :yay:

There's no red in there now (except for what's in the flooring). I'm putting the furniture back in tonight and will reassess then. It'll be a whole different image with that in place. :yay:

A goldish/sand color would look nice with the new floors.
