St. Andrews Church

I'm 18 and I just had a baby, I don't have much money so I can't afford to but clothes. I been watching freecycle and checking out the freebies section but so far found nothing. I'm in serious need of clothes becauseim not the size I use to be. I need size medium or size 7-9 pants. Ill even take maternity clothes. I just don't have anything. Please if you have stuff that you don't wear and would like to get rid of let me know.

St Andrews Church thrift shop has lots of clothes. We usually take our stuff there and Walden. Just dropped off a bunch yesterday, though I don't think they were your sizes.

I'm just going to say, that it is absolutely ridiculous how someone assumes that a person is in a certain situation when they don't know the facts. Even if she was in that situation, have you ever thought maybe they are hard working people who were just another casualty to the economy, job loss, pay cuts? Why automatically assume she is a mother that can't afford to have a child and shouldn't have had a child and who is living on the system.

Everyone should sit back and think about when their first child was born, probably most of us couldn't really afford to have them, there are alot of things in life people can't afford but they still do it. Do I think that people should live off the system? Aboslutely not, do I think that people should not think before they act when it comes to sex? No, I think that people should take precautions to prevent it all cost. However, you never know what situation you will find yourself in in life and besides, regardless of what the situation was, the baby is already here what is she supposed to do about it now?

I commend her for coming on here and asking for help because that in itself is hard to do. Why is it that everytime a person asks for help or states an opinion, it doesn't even have to be an opinion it could be cold hard facts, the person that replies and does not like their opinion, fact or situation has to be so nasty and put them down and try to get a bandwagon of others to jump on board? Seriously if more people whould work together in this contry and look out for each other instead of always trying to ridicule maybe then we could have more faith in people.

Good luck to you, I have tons of clothes to get rid of but none are that size, sorry :)

It's funny that people who cry about how welfare isn't needed because the community should take care of people still biatch when people ask the community for help.

Bailey, you need to MYOB. She asked for clothes, not for someone to critique her decisions in life. If you don't want to donate clothes, or don't have any to donate, don't. It's just that simple.

I went to Vintage Values in PF around the beginning of October looking for a black dress for Halloween, which I found. They had it priced at $8.00 and I think I paid $6.00. It is a pretty formal, long black velvet gown. I think that is a very fair price!

I love shopping in Thrift stores, and due to my work hours & schedules, I have just never been in that store much. I took the opportunity to check out the clothes, too, in case I coud pick something up for the Things for Halloween. While looking, I came across winter coats! Well, long story short - I found a men's large Columbia jacket/coat marked $20.00. THAT is a steal for that coat, as it is the type with the zip-out jacket. so really, it's 3 jacket/coats for the price of 1! I think I got it for $16.00.

SO - for both items, they told me they would come down in the price and I think I got a very good deal on both.

Thanks so much for the support! Everything you said is so true. It was hard for me to ask people for clothes, but in my situation I would rather save any left over money we have have after paying our bills for any kind of emergency. Because it is very possible for people to lose their jobs and its good for us to save money if that is ever the case. Our daughter is more important than anything . I really appreciate you standing up for me. It makes me have faith in the few nice people left.

So were you able to get out today and check out some garage sales or go to vintage values? Could you please tell us if you are tall or short that might help when we are cleaning out our closets. See some of us may have meduim shirts but mine are for shorties.

I need to go through my closets & get rid of some stuff soon so please let us know about sizes for tops, inseam lengths for pants (I'm short - 30" inseam on most), do you need t-shirts/sweaters/blouses/jeans/slacks/skirts/dresses or what? Favorite colors? We'd like to help but need more info.

Let the rudeness roll off your back -- some people can't help it and others have been burned by scammers and are reluctant to put themselves in that position again.

I fit in a medium top and some larges. I pretty much like anything I'm not really that picky so ill settle for anything I can get. I'm more in need or pants and dresses than anything. But I wear a long in jeans. Some shorts fit me but I'm not really that short

Ok, that is NOT funny! She's new & can't tell that's your sense of humor talking.

I know you were joking, but she probably doesn't!

crabs...
Coors Light? Never understood the concept behind light beer. I mean really, why bother? If you're gonna have beer, have BEER!

I bought a case on July 23rd and still have about half of it, picked up crabs from Chesapeakes Bounty and decided to have a couple with them. I've used more of the beer cooking crabs than I have actually drank :lmao:

I can't help you out on baby or ladies (downsizing myself), but I have some mens stuff ( between Mr A & No. 1 [6'3"] & No. 2 [5'10" and growing] sons). Sons have had growth spurts after buying clothes, some still have tags.

Uhmm? Wow your so rude! I can't stand people who think their better then everyone else. I am taking care of my daughter thank you very much and I always will. At lease I'm not a baby killer. I take up for my responsibilties. You are so rude! My boyfriend and I are doing a really good job takinh care of our daughter people like you need to leave us alone. I posted asking for clothes. Not someone to be rude like you. Just because were young doesn't mean we don't know that the F were doing. GROW UP!
:yeahthat: It seems to me that you are just down and out right now. You may not have been ready to have a baby right now, but everyone makes mistakes, and I'm sure many in this forum have parents that made "mistakes" when they were teens, and went on to raise wonderful families after early years of hardship.
