India May Arrest Richard Gere Over Kiss

My husband and I found out first hand about this 'rule' that they have in their culture. In February, we went to an Indian/Pakistani wedding. My husband went to hug one of the female guests (who was American) and the males quickly escorted him away and told him that you do not touch another woman in public unless she is your wife!

Scared the crap out of my husband. :killingme

that is too funny!

i understand that they have stringent rules regarding their religion, but if our country is making changes to accomodate other cultures and religions, then why can't they slap him on the wrist and simply tell him please don't return. i really don't see why they're blowing it out of proportion.

Because it's their country.
The U.S. is about the only country where it's citizines are ashamed of being citizens and try to destroy their own country's culture.
