Infant Daycare

The most appropriate question would be "How much are you looking to pay/spend for full time infant care?"

Home Day Care Provider's are limited to two children under the age of two. So in all reality they are the most premium and pricey spots to get in this area.

Actually, they aren't. Centers have to have one worker for every two under 18 months and cannot have more than 4 children that age in a "group" That group is seperated from the older kids, so where a family provider can have two under age 2, they could also be watching up to 6 older children at the same time. Centers can't do that, so they have to cover two full salaries plus things like toys and overhead costs from only 4 children. As a result, some centers won't even take children under 18 months. The ones that do charge a lot and pay their employees very little, so they have a high turnover rate.

Thought they were legally considered an "infant" until 24 months. Did it change? Princess is 21 months and I need to start looking for a Daycare option.

Centers have different rules. I'm not sure what all they are and they have changed recently, but I think they can have more 18-24 month olds in a "group" than the younger ones and the ratio changes again at 24 months and again at age 3.
