Injured cat lying in driveway - HELP!

SouthernMdRocks

R.I.P. Bobo, We miss you!
Well maybe I did...and it was called for...

No one bothered to act....just sit here and chat away....

I go out there,,and there this box covered in snow on a sidewalk in the dark with a howling coming from inside it.
I open the box and there is a thin tee shirt covering a shivering shape that is howling in pure agony....and it is lying on cold, wet concrete...and has been there for at least 4 hours....
It cant move, it cant crawl away....
I am heart sick and feel great compassion for this living creature.

So what do you expect ...me to pop in and say wonderful thinkgs about how no one bothered to act?

Brave words are wonderful....but without a follow up of action, they are empty.

I cant expect you to understand how I feel...you were not there..and you really were not there.

Thanks.........

Ink, I am reading this thread for the first time today and think it is wonderful that you went and got the cat, thank goodness you were able to. I and many others would have done the same if we knew. There are circumstances that might make it not possible for someone to get up and go to the rescue.. don't think you are alone in your caring for that poor cat. Nonetheless, It breaks my heart to know what that cat suffered and I hope you can pull the cat through.

That is not true... people may remember the thread I started about a woman that collapsed in front of me in the parking lot of my office building. People walked by me and didn't even bother to help me. I was on the cell phone with 911 in one hand and trying to turn her on her side with the other so she wouldn't swallow her tongue if it was a seizure.... I kept loosing signal and the dispatcher was having a hard time understanding I was at the Smallwood Building and not on Smallwood Drive.... I later learned it was her appendix but it wasn't until a mere minute or two before the medic got there that somebody came to help me. And when I say people walked by, looked over and kept on walking, I am not kidding.... I felt completely invisible and I know people worry about liability and also don't do well in emergency situations or even feel shocked to witness it all... but it happens... Who knows why I just happened to be in the parking lot at the same exact time this woman collapsed. Maybe it was a sign of some sort because at the time I was more concerned about what went on in the http world than anything else and needed a shock back into reality??? Who knows! but... Mouse, I swear you just don't get it and neither does Ink.... so she went to get the kitty... that is great but don't come here and complain and blast others because she choose to do what she did.

Now, how would it have looked had emergency personal gotten there and I was screaming at the rubber neckers and telling them they all suck for not helping... What if you panicked? What if you just arrived? How would I have looked? Like a nut? I would think so!

You can't swallow your tongue. You can choke on it, but you can't swallow it. It's attached to the bottom of your mouth. Good job though, seriously. If I were that person I'd have been happy it was just one person that had pushed me to my side. I had a seizure in the Wal-Mart parking lot once and woke up terrified because I had an audience of strangers.

I got to the thread after all the brouhaha was over last night. Wow. :shocking:

So...anyway, I was kind of hoping to find out more about the kitty. Does anyone know what happened to the poor thing?

Oh..whip my azz? Wonderful!!! I have the cream if she has the whip!!!
Bring it on!!!
Shall I wear black lace and leather???

The only other person I know who takes every statement this literally - is my 3 year old.

Anybody else notice that about her?

I used to have seizures in my teen years and can completely relate to that strangeness you feel when you have an audience of strangers standing around you after you become aware of what just happened... but I remember thinking that day, I just wish one person would come over here and stand next to me, just to keep me company. In hindsight, those onlookers were probably scared too and all I could think to do was to turn her on her side.

I remember this thread... we were all blasted like we beat that kitty up and left it in the driveway. :ohwell:

I totally did not even read this entire thread when this happened.

It made a great Kung Pao "Chicken"

Though it was a little on the cold side.

You must have picked it up after they tried to get someone to adopt it??
