Have you considered seeing a Psychiatrist? May be a good place to consider.kris31280 said:My bed is the only bed that I've ever been able to sleep on where I didn't wake up feeling like someone threw me against a brick wall, so I know it's not the mattress. My insomnia is caused by my inability to shut off my brain when I want to sleep, so I end up being a very light sleeper and never end up getting in to a deep sleep.
I was worried about taking something to sleep because my son gets night terrors and I can't be zonked out or drowsy when handling those. I just started taking the trazadone on Friday and last night my son had a nightmare (which is SO much better than a night terror) and I was able to wake up and comfort him and soothe him back to sleep without feeling like I was going to drop dead asleep at any point in time.

What type of bed do you have? I'm looking for a new one that is comfy and will not shake my side of the bed when my husband moves.
I have the same issues that you do about sleeping lightly (although I don't believe I'm thinking, just a light sleeper. I've been doing neurofeedback to learn how to sleep deeper. It has been helping.

I've suffered from it for as long as I can remember... I wake between 3 and 5 times a night.
Although the doctor finally convinced me to take something to sleep (she's only been asking for the last 3 months I've been seeing her) and I only woke up twice last night, so it must be working.
