some people need to grow up a little bit:

My Latest Karma Received:

iPhone and service in... 01-09-2008 05:50 AM; stick your Iphone in your bunghole

iPhone and service in... 01-09-2008 04:22 AM; don't be such an a-hole this is a public area and they can post what they want.

Don't let that karma trash bug you, there are lots of morons on here that think it's real cool to say stupid stuff like that in karma.

I'm thinkin I got my story backwards.. the tower at Buzzy's must be Cingular, which is now AT&T..

Daughter must of had a NEXTEL phone.

Verizon has a new ENV that is supposed to be as good if not better than the iPhone.. friggin EXPENSIVE though $499

I can't find the page I used, but you used to be able to search for cell towers, and when you clicked on them it used to tell you who owned the tower, and which cell companies they leased to.

For example.. RIDGE has a 'cell tower' on their firehouse, but it's for their use, it's not leased by any phone company..

The VZW voyager matches the iPhone for $100 - $200 less. Touch screen and all. Plus it has a full keyboard when you fold it out.

That's the one I've been looking at for my next phone, but I'm not sure it's worth upgrading from my XV6700. BTW, I noticed that they have an XV6800 now...

That's the phone I think I'm going to switch to when my contract is up next month.

isn't supported with apple... there isn't a phone that is Mac OSX capable.

i tried that thing in the store... 3 different stores... web page searching was horrible.

to type in the box you have to flip it open and use the key pad inorder to type in a web address... at least thats the way it was demo-ed in two of the stores.

Please do not comment on other phones.
If I don't get an iPhone, I'll stay with Verizon.

I am looking for input from iPhone users and how is your service within Southern MD.

Well, I THINK iPhones only work with AT&T... and it won't matter how GREAT a phone it is, if you don't have service it's a $500 paperweight.

If you have to stick with Verizon look at the Voyager (?) for an option.. it's VERY much like an iPhone, including the price tag.

Hey idiot, he doesn't give a crap about Nextel and all that other BS  He just wants to know about Iphone service :smack: Didn't you see where he said that.

I'm sorry..

Damn, I'm such an a-hole.

I'll have to ask BG to punish me somehow.

She'll probably make me buy a Nextel phone, or the Korean iPhone knock-off.. the iProbe

Go Braves!
I have AT&T and my phone is the Motorolla Q. I freaking love my phone! I always bought the cheapest phone in the past and never understood what was so great about those high dollar ones  Now I understand, this phone does everything and then some while being easy to use at the same time:yay:

As I said in the other tread - my sis-in-law has the iPhone - no Mac to go with it and she likes it as long as she has coverage. In non-fringe areas it blows; no coverage/no service. She does not get off the beaten path (major highways and small towns) that often so for her it is a non-issue.

When we were all back home at her parents over the holidays she had no coverage (50 miles south of Pittsburgh), so she had an expensive MP3/electronic organizer! Her cousins were thrilled to see the expensive iPhone that did not work up there! :sarcasm:

In this area, IMO, and based on the CONUS travel I have done, you cannot beat Verizon for their coverage... I have never had a coverage problem.

The only thing that scares me about the iPhone is the report of broken screens - it does not take much of a drop to shatter the glass. The phone will still work, but the glass screen will cost you ~$200 to replace! :eek:uch: One of the engineers here dropped his off his desk, with a protective case, onto a thin carpeted floor and it still broke! There are a TON of posts online about this.

Good Luck!

iPhone coverage help

Wireless services are designed for outdoor coverage. This is particularly true in sparsely populated areas such as here. There will never be the number of towers needed to support in building coverage in areas such as ours, because the economics do not support it as they do in the city.
My wife Kim and I offer a very unique service in "The County" of enhancing cell/PDA/iPhone and EVDO wireless services. We provide booster amplifier systems and antennas, We provide these with expert advice and consulting as well. We are experienced radio engineers and provide solid solutions that work inside buildings and vehicles.
