IRS Tax Letters

We got a letter from the IRS three weeks ago stating they changed would no longer mail our PO BOX we've been using for over 25 years since they received something that makes them believe we have another address. They said they mailed a confirmation letter to that address as well. We never received anything from the IRS at our street address. Whenever we call the number on their letter it goes to recording saying their hopper is full, try again the next day, then hangs up on us.

Just to clarify:
I received Letter 6475 last week. It is nothing more than a reminder of what you got as stimulus for tax year 2021.

From the letter: Economic Impact Payment is not considered income, and not to be reported. However, you might need the information in this letter to confirm you've received all you are entitled to, and whether or not you should file a Recovery Rebate Credit on your 2021 tax return.

That's it. Not required for filing taxes.

If you qualified for the payment then that number on the letter needs to be input into your tax return forms. If you did not receive the letter(s) yet then you can get the info needed by logging into the IRS portal.
