Damn this hag is really infatuated with sexual things. I wonder if she is trolling to see who might bed her!

"As part of my responsibilities to ensure the fitness of nominees before any of the committees on which I sit, I ask the following two initial questions," Hirono said to Burgum on Thursday. "First is, since you became a legal adult, have you ever made unwanted requests for sexual favors or committed any verbal or physical harassment or assault of a sexual nature?"

"Have you ever faced discipline or entered into a settlement related to this kind of conduct?" Hirono then asked.

How do you know if it was unwanted unless you ask?

She's always been a hot mess.
Hawaii has always been a hot mess.

Why did we make it a state again?

I remember a comedian back in the mid-70s say "The way the Japanese are buying up property in Hawaii, we ought to sell the whole thing to them while we can still make a profit."

I wonder if the "advise and consent" role in the Senate was anything like this in, say, the first hundred years -

Or if THOSE Senators would be rolling in their graves to know that a Senator would be asking questions about sexual harassment about EVERY SINGLE cabinet post? You know - and NOTHING about what they might do on the job, or why they are qualified.

I think I remember that almost all cabinet posts eventually get approved. Thus far in U.S. history, we're up to NINE that were not approved and four of them were for John Tyler. 18 more withdrew. But that's it.

The only difference is that approval time has taken MUCH LONGER. It now takes three times longer than it did under Reagan.

I did like how that one guy - can't recall his name - chastised the entire chamber for grilling someone over his drinking habits even knowing that some of THEM have showed up blazing drunk for actual VOTES.
