AMEN! And no special prosecutors either! I'd like to see Bush hanged by his toenails as much as anyone, but we have better things to worry about now than an expensive Washington dog and pony show.

Did the Bushies inflate or fabricate the case for war? Hell yeah! That was quite evident at the time. Did he do anything that we should bother impeaching him for? No. He followed the proud tradition of American governments fabricating a case for war (Spanish-American, Vietnam, etc.). I'm less pissed about him starting the war (which was a bad idea) and more pissed that he squandered an opportunity to strike real fear into the Islamic world - Iran's nukephiles, Saudi Arabia's nutjobs, Syria's bombers, etc. If you're going to piss off your allies, spend billions that you don't have, and lie to the American people, at least have something to show for it. Libya's sad ass doesn't count.

I wonder what the world thinks when they look at us.

Terrorists attack the United States and our response, is to attack one another.

I can't help but wonder what the psychology is behind these actions. :frown:

Bush is the teflon president, every lie has been exposed but he still isn't being impeached.

Somehow, years of the same kind of remarks regarding Clinton were proof enough to Democrats that the accusations *against him* were lies.

When it's Bush, they're gospel - but just not provable in court.

Oh right. That whole Afghanistan thing was a memory lapse of mine.

Which really proves it for what it is - a lame partisan stunt.

If they try this, I swear I'm gonna punch out any hypocritical Democrat that whines about Clinton's impeachment.

I'll play... Just for fun, let's say that you are right and Iraq had nothing to do with Bin Laden.

Don't you realize that Saddam was a terrorist in his own right? He continually murdered and tortured his own people.

Isn't that reason enough to take him out?

There are plenty of "terrorists" out there that we let go roam around all the time. Plus, we aren't talking about this issue, but rather saddam's connection to al-qaida.

But to play along, no. I can't see having 800+ of our soldiers killed, and billions of dollars spent on removing someone who messes with his own people. If we took out everyone who didn't play nice, we would be a very busy country.

But you see...that's the whole problem....Saddam didn't confine it to his own people...remember August 1990? And unless we did, what we did, when we did...who is to say he wouldn't try it again? Yes - there is an oil connection...but only because us Americans insist on driving 8 mpg vehicles and then whine that the war is about oil....duh!!!

Pretty much what i've been saying all long.

"The trouble for the administration is that Mr. Cheney has not always been careful to distinguish between Iraqi ties to al Qaeda and supposed support for the attacks. Indeed, it was he who kept the Prague meeting story alive long after others in the government thought it discredited. His recent comments not only overstate what now appear to be rather tentative ties between Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein, but they probably help to keep alive in the minds of many Americans a link between Iraq and the attacks that not even Mr. Cheney still alleges. If the U.S. intelligence community now believes that the relationship between al Qaeda and Saddam Hussein consisted of no more than what the commission reports, Mr. Cheney ought not be implying more.

Despite the conspiracies, despite the paranoia, despite everything... America is still a democracy. Run by the people, for the people...

Flag-waving, arm-chair patriots, born in the era of Vietnam will eventually be the downfall of this great country. They duck and hide under the veil of democracy but none of them grasp the true meaning.

Once upon a time, the most successful Democratic leader of them all, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, looked south and said, "I see one-third of a nation ill-housed, ill-clad, ill-nourished."

Today our national Democratic leaders look south and say, "I see one-third of a nation and it can go to hell."

Democrats not only turn on Republicans but they notoriously turn on themselves.

Implosion is imminent.

ST...

"The trouble for the administration is that Mr. Cheney has not always been careful to distinguish between Iraqi ties to al Qaeda and supposed support for the attacks.

That is a purely subjective opinion and the way they word it is proof. Just because the Post and the left want to spin that Chenney said Hussein is directly responsible, or make the vague accusation lacking evidence, does not make it so. Any objective summary of any of the Vice Presidents Iraq/Al Queda/9-11 comments leaves clear what he has in fact been saying all along; there IS and WAS a relationship and it is merely lack of insanity to be concerned about how deep the involvement was.

The Iraq War Resolution makes clear, just as Chenney has, that Iraq is a problem, was a problem and is best dealt with now. Yea or Nay.

Germany didn't have anything to do with Pearl Harbor, directly, but only an idiot would fail to see the mutual interest and that given an opportunity, support on some level would be no surprise.

The left is this country has gone so far out on a limb with the personal hatred of the Bush administration that they are stuck making standard fare Clintonesque arguments about the meaning of 'is'.

Hussein WAS a threat to our national security;

Right now, he IS not.

The fact that things are improving, dramatically, in Iraq only makes it more imperative that, having taken an indefensible position on liberating a nation and attempting to change the world for the better under the banner of national interest, the left MUST muddy the issue or look like enraged children.

If lying about reality in terms of the administration does the trick, it would only follow that 8 years of practicing is paying off.

Improving dramatically? I don't think a leadership threatening martial law is a sign of a drastic improvement
