Can I ask who your trainer is? You can send me a PM if you don't want to put her name on here. I have someone that comes to my house for 1-hour sessions. That has helped A LOT!! There is no way I would have been able to accomplish this on my own in less than 2 weeks time.

Gonna PM you.....

My boxer has gotten into cases of water bottles, bird seed, big plastic containers, cardboard boxes, including pizza boxes, and I'm sure a bunch of other stuff that I've forgotten about over the years.

I usually crate my boxer during the day. Last friday he pulled a first when I laid my piece of pizza on the counter and he jumped up, snatched the pizza and took off. That was a first, and hopefully the last time he does that. :cds:

I had a Boxer years ago, that if I even left to get the Mail at the end of our drive, she would rip the trash apart. One time, she tore the curtains off of every window of the house. It was horrible. I don't think we had Crates back then. That was about 40 years ago. My Bostons just LOVE their Crate, and go in to it willingly. I do have it covered with a blankie.

I could replace "my boxer" with Bubby and it would be the same. Add in soda cans and peeing on the plant in the middle of the kitchen table...

Cant wait for my next puppy..... i will so be attending the Puppy Kindergarten class!!!!

So, you will be letting me know when you want that new puppy, right? lol :buddies:

My GSD still hangs out in the crate. I think it makes her feel secure. We do not use it anymore, only when we get that once in a while foster dog.

Apollo had taken to peeing on the upstairs rug when I'd leave him alone and go out. Never any other time that I could tell, just bent because I'd left him. (We have separation anxiety.)

Last weekend Belvak set me up with her dog crate, which is quite large - 4ftx2ftx3ft. I was prepared to spend some time getting Apollo used to it, but he jumped right in and made it his own. I fixed it up with a blankie on the bottom and his little bed. It took no time for me to be able to send him to his apartment and leave without barking or carrying on, and he's not wild when I come back, either.

The crate has solved another problem: him losing his mind when the neighbors or the school maintenance guy is mowing grass.

This morning he began going crazy, barking and running around like a maniac when the mowing started, so I stuck him in the crate and gave him a treat. He calmed right down. Now he's sitting in there, alert and panting a bit, with me sitting next to him to reassure him, you can tell he's still upset about the noise but he's not losing it or particularly distressed.

What that means to me is that I can answer the phone when someone in the vicinity is using power tools and mowing because there isn't some crazy dog making a racket.

Thank you, Belvak, once again!

That's awesome that he feels safe in the crate, and that you can get a "break"

Our dog, who also had separation anxiety, could not be crated.

I have always trained my own dogs... till the crackhead came along....

and I love the trainer i am going to ...... wow ... her method is awesome

and the fact we are in the class with other dogs and she get the interaction she really needs is priceless...

we will be moving on to intermediate class next week.....

Cant wait for my next puppy..... i will so be attending the Puppy Kindergarten class!!!!

I'd love the name, too. My kids have a lab they need to work with and they need some guidance. I am a mom, so I know nothing and everyone on youtube does a better job of training; except the dog still jumps on everyone. Go figure.

A 10 pound bag of dog food last me about 2 weeks with my Bostons. I'll bet that Dane will eat that size bag in about 2, or 3 days soon. Are both her eyes blue Chasey? She's beautiful.

Only one of her eyes is blue. The other is green. Her mom's eyes were both crystal blue much like a husky's eyes.
