It's decided...

Before shelling out the money for a Harley, take a ride to Bob's in Columbia and take an RT or an LT for a test ride.. welll, they have enough used Harley trade in's you can test ride those too while you are there and do a live comparison.. they have VERY liberal test drive policies and some people spend all day on Saturday there and just drive model after model.

For two up riding I don't think the R1150RT, R1200RT or the K1200LT can be beat.

I prefer the R models for their simplicity, even with the 21st century technology they are extremely easy to work on. Took me an hour to adjust the valves and do a throtle body synch on mine this week-end, and most of that was messing with the alternator belt cover.. SWEET!!

Sweet....I don't see why the cycle mags rant and rave over the Multistrada when the V-strom (IMO) is a better overall bike...looks better...cheaper....ummm...cheaper....
Have you ever driven a MultiStrada?? You'll see why!! Again another bike that is easy to work on, loads of technology, and will last forever.. and will outperform the VStrom in every category...

Bikes are a personal preference, but some people get sold on the sales pitch and never even compare any other bikes, never know what they are missing.

Because it's Eye-Talion
Almost bought a GPZ550 a few (quite a few) years ago. It was at that used car dealer on 235 in Hollywood. He wanted to much for it at the time, think it was about $4k they were asking. Very nice bike.
You might want to consider a used Triumph Bonneville (new version). More power and torque than the Yamaha and it's modern running gear. They come in several different versions.
Oh believe me I've looked at the Triumph Thruxton 900....but the key word here is CHEAP
