Surely you jest ...
:cds: Why wasn't I informed before now? Half the month is gone. Oh well, I celebrate soup daily.

Anyone have any great tried and true 'easy' soup recipes they want to share?

In the crock now, ham bone, 1 lb. dried beans, 6 cups water, onion powder, salt and pepper. Cook on low for 8hrs. or till beans are tender.

Cornbread with Jalapenos in the mix will go with.

Made Bean and Ham soup on Saturday. Yum, Yum! One very easy and tasty soup:

Suasage and Lima Bean Soup

One tube of preferred breakfast sausage
One bag Lima Beans (soak the night before)
Two potatoes (cubed)
One large onion

Put a light layer of oil in the bottom of pot and add lima beans. Add water to cover beans about 1". Bring to boil and crumble raw sausage into pot and add potatoes and onion. Let simmer until beans split. Add additional water if needed.

This will be a thick soup.

I use hot breakfast sausage and I also add 1 or 2 cans of Rotels. I like spicy.

Every month is soup month for me.
I've got this wife issue going on, she thinks soup is only for cold weather, I on the other hand would rather have a pot of soup or stock on the stove 24/7. I compromise and kick her out of the house occasionally so I can get my fix.

I have a husband issue. He thinks no soup makes a meal, no matter how hearty it is. Dinner must include "man food", something that needs to be cut with a knife.
