I have long, thick, wavy hair. This is what I use and I like it
Oléo-Relax Slim | Kérastase Paris
I just use the cream. Some salons also offer keratase treatments (or other similar teatments) to smooth hair. I've never had that done though, so I'm not sure if they work.
Sometimes I find that my hair is just more cooperative when it feels like cooperating. Sometimes the waves look awesome on their own and sometimes a bun it is; even though (I think) I've done everything the same.
