My stars! Innocent men, just minding their own business, when this "miscreant" comes along and tasers them for no reason. :frown:
* Jan 4th: Brandon Smiley, 27, Mobile County, Alabama, after becoming violent with the crew of an ambulance taking him to the hospital for treatment for a suspected drug overdose.

* Jan 4th: Ryan Rich, 33, Las Vegas, Nevada (unidentified in original article), after driving erratically, crashing into a wall, and trying to resist police removing him from his vehicle.

* Jan 9th: Otis C. Anderson, 36, Fayetteville, North Carolina, asked police for help, then ran, encountered police again, become combatitive, was shocked, then stopped breathing during his arrest.

* Jan 11th: Xavier Jones, 29, Coral Gables, Florida, "became unresponsive" after police responding to calls about a man at a party being disruptive shocked him for resisting arrest.

* Jan 15th: Mark C. Backlund, 29, Fridley, Minnesota, unidentified in the original article, shocked after he "became uncooperative" with police after a car accident.

Here I go again, but it is worth repeating. If they would reinstate the height & weight requirements for a PoliceMAN, this would not be happening. Thanks to the liberals getting their way, these 5'4" 140 lb people are not able to MAN handle these criminals. I don't care what anyone thinks, this is a fact. When a cop is a tall & "beefy" guy, even a total idiot will think twice about not complying with his order. Plus, today, almost every criminal has no respect for Police officers so it's almost always going to become physical. The taser gives the "wittle" police people a chance they would otherwise not have. Vrai makes a good point too. This loser was out of control so the officer did what was clearly called for. Why didn't you print that in your quote NHBOY? You need to wise up in your "anti-cop" posts; Your bias towards the bad guys shows you're a liberal and a troublemaker. AATTTSSS RIGHT!

You are right. We need to go back to giving police jobs to people capable of doing the job. Anyone can write a traffic ticket, but when it comes to handling violent people you need beef.

Second, gun use isn't needed by a cop if HE was big enough to MAN handle an unarmed disorderly person. He would simply tell the person to turn around and put his hands behind his back. If he refused, the cop would do it for him. It sounds like you must be one of those 5'4" 140lb wittle guys??? Does the truth hurt wittle buddy? Could you not reach the keyboard to sign your screen name, COWARD?

Add drugs to the equation and all bets are off. I've seen one man fight off five full size male cops. Sometimes it takes more than just a strong man. That's what the taser gives them, and it is less deadly than their night stick, fists, maglight, or gun.
