So now we all know what the church was like back in Ephesus and Corinth when the Jewish leaders in the Christian Church were demanding that the gentiles be circumcised. Hot topic.... the law {circumcision or Jewish tradition] or faith [eternal life as a child of God..... Jesus was fighting that Hot Topic for His whole ministry... So this is a great example of what the church was like back in John's day.... and from the TV reports ..... it's not real friendly now.... but I have no first hand knowledge of what the church is going through today... I left the brick and mortar church a long time ago.... over discussion just like this one... and this type of discussion was the reason I started the daily postings.....
Since I have read the whole Bible now... let me clear up one misconception I saw here..... Jew was any descendant of Abraham. The Jewish people were "chosen" by God when He made His covenant with Abram.... Abraham. Gentiles was what everyone else was labeled.. Also.... Rome did not do away with all the Jews..... Nero burnt the city down and blamed it on the Messianic Jews.... saying they were baby killers who had wild orgies.... which must have resulted in the fires. There were Jews left after Rome...... It wasn't economically sound to get rid of the Jews.... they knew money and they were good slaves. IMHO.....
I still say.... Jesus loves you..... get with the program... you are loved..... And now... on with the study of Revelation.... written by John... the close personal friend of the human Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth..... John..... who just told us.... in his last letter... that some rude idiot know-it-all had taken over one of the churches and he was preaching that Jesus was never human.... never died on the cross... and never defeated the tomb..... liars were in the pulpit.... they were calling John... the Best friend of Jesus the Messiah... a liar.
