Comparison

Jim Brown averaged 5.2 yards per carry and 9.5 yards per reception. Played in every game throughout his career.
Bo Jackson averaged 4.2 yards per carry and 6.3 yards per reception.
Barry Sanders averaged 5.0 yards per carry and 8.3 yards per reception.
Emmitt Smith averages 4.2 yards per carry and 6.3 yards per reception.

Just putting the numbers up, not making any claim as to which is/was the best.

Hey Ken, just for giggles, did you find the stats for Payton in there? Thanks

True, but look what those guys did in all the years they played, they still averaged those numbers.... they didnt average those numbers in 1-2 years of playing, its a 10 year period if not more....Im just saying, when it comes down to saying someone is the "greatest of all time" your going to have agreements and objections no matter what...

Its like saying Cal Ripken Jr. is the greatest shortstop of all time... Now, I can put up one hell of an arguement toward that, but there will still be those who whole heartedly disagree...

I guess it comes down to what you look at for your own personel opinion on the matter

Where do you get it was only one or two years for Brown? He was the league MVP 4 times and played 9 years and never missed a game.

I think you might be confusing Jackson for Brown, Jackson only played four years and never a full season only playing in 38 NFL games during that period.

Yeah, and he took one hit that Brown would have bounced off of, and he ended two careers.

And thanks, Ken for the Sweetness info

That musta been it... I think... but I still cant call Brown the greatest...and it could also be do to the fact Ive never personally seen him -play, and I dont see him on many of the NFL "over the years" type football shows, unless he is talking...

Nothing to see here
Just saw this..Jim Brown was a man among boys when he played..Only one close to Browns' greatness was Gale Sayers. Emmitt Smith and Sanders were great runners, but not in the same league as Brown and Sayers.

Yeah, but I put him in the same category as Bo. Career cut short by injury. But, man oh man! What could have been!!
