I don't understand your question. Shooting up churches has never been okay among civilized people. Only far left Democrats cheer for Christians to be killed.
No shortage of people needing a master to make them feel worth a damn.
I always liked Joel Osteen's sermons. Even a heathen like me can appreciate a positive message. So I was disappointed to learn that he's just another grifter televangelist lining his pockets off the ignorant.
But then again....if people didn't want to give him money he wouldn't be there. It's not like he's shaking anyone down - they give him money of their own free will. So is he really a bad person? It's not his fault a segment of our population thinks they can buy their way into Heaven via a third party.
That's exciting. I've been looking for something to occupy my golden years, after SGI slips out of his slave yoke and escapes west. I even have the perfect first name for the job...Jim.

Being a religious shyster is nothing new. They have been around for years.. It's a business like any other.
They are selling a product, and many people are happy to give them money for the peace of mind they bring to them.
Some people are happy to be bullshitted. Religion has been around almost since man was created, if indeed he was created.
Is mine any better ? Is yours any better? They all want money. Some use a portion of it to give to the needy, the poor, but they all use it to build structures to ask for more. Is there a deity? Believe what you will, people have believed in gods since the sun was that deity, pick the one you want and try for that peace of mind, or become a atheist and deny the whole thing. Whatever winds your clock.
