Next Saturday is your last chance to attend a JPPM Guided Walking Tour in 2022!

We offer three tours through out each listed tour date. Feel free to sign up for one tour and if you decide to attend another, you can attend the second tour for free and there is no need to pre-register a second time. Please note that the first tour at 10 am is repeated at 1:30 pm. Dress comfortably and bring plenty of water, as there are no fountains along hike. In the event of rain, tours will be cancelled.

All tours meet in the parking lot across the street from the Visitor Center.

Registration and payment are required for children 6-years-old and older.


10 am & 1:30 pm Tours

Nearly 70 archaeological sites document a remarkable and varied history that goes back

thousands of years at JPPM. Through this special guided walk, visitors can learn about the 9,000

years of human history uncovered by the archaeology carried out on the park. This hike includes

visits to an 18th -century domestic site and a post-emancipation tenant farm site.

The tour lasts about an hour and covers less than one mile of walking. One segment involves

walking up a short, but fairly steep hill.


11:30 am Tour

Nearly 70 archaeological sites document a remarkable and varied history that goes back

thousands of years at JPPM. Through this special guided walk, visitors can learn about the 9,000

years of human history uncovered by the archaeology carried out on the park. This hike includes

visits to two 17th-century domestic sites and a pre-contact period village site.

The tour lasts about an hour and covers less than one mile of walking on even terrain.
