Jumpyard

didn't someone just buy it 6 months or so ago? It was for sale for a while the last time it was on the market.

My kids like the jumpyard but I don't - my kids get tired of it after about an hour or so (and that's on a good day). I understand that there are space constraints and stuff, but the youngest gets worn out and crabby and the oldest gets bored. Not to mention that I have a mild germ-phobia and places like the jumpyard are high on my list

Maybe the interest is high in this area for stuff like that but people just can't afford it in the end? I know that 'kiddos' gym on 235 near San Souci was for sale for a while too, right? Is that still there? My kids were too old for that when it opened (youngest was almost 4, it seemed more for the toddler set) so I have no idea what they offered - but maybe something like that would have been better closer to Leonardtown? It just seemed kind of redundant to have that then have the county gymnastics center that offered parent and tot classes a few miles away...

I dont' like the location of the Jumpyard. Like you Lisa I have germ issues so thats another reason I have never taken my daughter.

My 8 year old loves Jump Yard. My youngest (18 months) is just starting to be able to play on the one bouncer for smaller kids. We don't like the location either but it is cheap fun for the kids. We go for a little over an hour usually. The problem is, there isn't a lot of things like that around here. No arcades, kids gyms, etc. We don't like Chuck E Cheese because people don't watch their kids and stuff is always broken no matter which one you go to. I hope Jump yard stays in business. They may do better in a different location but it's probably expensive to move it.

When I lived in the park I would take a picnic lunch and my two youngest to the park off of Willow's road. They would have their lunch and play for hours while I read a book. They have kind of outgrown the playground but it was a nice free place for them to play.

My kids love Jumpyard and so do I. Aside from the one time that a kid puked on the floor. We've never had a bad time. Now on nice days I take them to 2nd District Park. The playground there is great!

That is a pretty good park. We go to Cove Point Park a lot when it is nice out. We do Jump yard on rainy or cold days.

Where is the 2nd district park Sockgirl77? We've been to a few that are nice, but one I will NEVER go back to again is that one where the 'sprayground' is... my kids and I were there one day (by ourselves for some reason - my first dumb mistake) and some creepy guy was there who kept coming in and out of the woods. He went back into the woods and I got a really weird feeling and told the kids to come on - I had to pick up the oldest and throw him in the car because I happened to turn around and here comes creepy guy walking at a *really* fast pace towards us. I didn't even buckle the kids in, I just drove up the road a bit onto that main residential street and then got them straight. Ugh...that is the only time I can recall feeling genuinely threatened/scared in this area.

We usually go to the playgrounds on base, but the kids get tired of those - and I don't get there as much as I used to. I'm so glad that nicer weather is on the way - it was nice today and supposed to be nicer still each day this week :starcat:

ah ok - was that the one where some dumb@sses decided to make a big mess a year or two ago? I remember wanting to go there, then that happening and I never really thought about it again, thanks for reminding me. It's off of GMR down near 5, right? Where the schools go for the nature walk or campout or something? Or am I thinking of the wrong one again... :lol

Where is the one off of willows road? That isn't the one I was talking about earlier with the sprayground is it?? Ick I hope not - I'll have a panic attack if I see someone coming out of the woods again :cds:

The one off Willows Road is called Lancaster Park. It is not the one with the spray ground. Lancaster is not a bad park but I don't care for it's location. I do go to that park but only if there are sports activities so as not to be alone. Anywhere in Lexington park I don't really care to go alone.

Wow! Did something happen for you to be reacting this way?
I think it's the fact that you are the owner/operator/employee of the jumpyard that has his panties in a twist. It erks him when people try to get free advertising without paying for it.

It is different when others ask for opinions etc. and it's given freely without benefit for themselves. Then you get an honest opinion. If you had left well enough alone, you'd have seen that people said they liked your business but didn't care for the location.

Now board mommy will probably delete your account since this is your second violation of spamming your business.
