after reading this thread I see it is just another case of folks bullying and showing their ignorance behind their computers. presidents day honors All presidents of the United States, including George Washington, the USA's first president. Juneteenth is not stupid. It honors the emancipation of slaves and that is a fact that was never really honored its due as other countries have done. It’s way past time. Be happy that maybe next year you’ll get your precious paid day off for a truly deserved day.

I doubt we are celebrating Millard Fillmore, Grover Cleveland, and a few others.
Presidents Day consolidated the former holidays of Washington's Birthday and Lincoln's Birthday.
Then someone had the bright idea of saying we celebrate all presidents.

It honors the emancipation of slaves

Well kind of, seems to me it honors Texas finally hearing about it. The emancipation was issued on September 22, 1862, and became effective as of January 1, 1863. Juneteenth is a Texas state holiday celebrated annually of the announcement of federal orders received on June 19, 1865, proclaiming that all slaves in Texas were now free. Two years, 5 months and 18 days after the fact. Also it was two months after the war ended and Lincoln was dead.
