Just a bald-faced lying POS

Mitch needs to leave - now. Maybe before, he was lucid - but he has those creepy moments where he zones out for a minute.

My MOM did this in the years before her death. Those episodes were invisible to her - it was as though someone turned her “off” for a minute. Such an episode led to my father’s death when she was driving with him as a passenger.

When I saw him do this on TV, first thing from my mouth was “oh my God” because I’d seen it so often.

Yep, good work on the Court thing. The point isn't who has the better fossil. They think their fossils are GREEAATT!!!.

The point is that this system that allows the fossils to accrete power over time and become invulnerable is not a Good Thing. Certainly not what the founders intended. Go, serve, then leave. I'm not sure why everybody agrees that the President should only serve a certain amount of time, but Congress Critters can make a lifetime of it.

It wasn't agreed - the 22nd Amendment was a reaction to FDR - who had accrued enough power, he could have been re-elected for as long as he lived.

And he also broke with the "tradition" of leaving after two terms set by Washington - who never wanted to even serve ONCE, let alone twice.

And I don't know the answer to perennial Congress critters - they do get re-elected better than 90% of the time, even while public approval is in the TEENS. Despite party power and so forth, there's an advantage achieved by incumbency that is hard to beat. So it would be great, if they left after three or four terms.

But that presents a different problem - one is, we really do need legislators who know the facts. Most of them have large staffs that do the work for them, and mostly, they don't speak much in public that isn't prepared FOR them. WHICH MEANS - the REAL power - if we go with term limits - will be that staff, unless it is required that the staff also must leave Washington, and NOT be rehired by the next guy. Otherwise, you're just exchanging puppets for the ventriloquist.

So we need them to know, but we dont want them to accumulate power. How do we achieve that?

I will be 82 next month, and although I feel I am pretty sharp I don't have the mental acuity of a younger man.
We need age limits on the politicians, especially the ones like Steny and Feinstein and Pelosi who want to stay until thay die and lie in State in the capitol. That's right I said it. They want to die in office. It is their objective. Look at the ones that have done it and tell me I am wrong.

Steny is 85 just had a stroke and running again. He has sucked that government tit his whole life and intends for us to let him suck it right into the grave AND to pay for his funeral.

We don't believe a word you post. STFU.

“The Democrats are going to take care of the son of a bitch for us,” McConnell told two associates just days after the insurrection, referring to the effort to impeach Trump in the Democratic-led House, according to the Times’ reporters.

And of Trump’s guilt, McConnell was equally clear-eyed: “If this isn’t impeachable, I don’t know what is,” he said. There was even talk that McConnell himself might vote to convict Trump in a Senate impeachment trial.
