I took a part-time job recently and I drive through 235/4 several times a day.

Sneakers

Just sneakin' around....
I don't give money to any of them. Various people have been walking the medians for years here. There are far better ways to get help and shelter than panhandling on the street. The people that panhandle on the street are more likely to not need help, and get in their car and drive away at the end of the day with a pocketful of your money.

Call me a cynic.

Nothing to see here
And every store you basically go in to has a help wanted sign on the door. Instead of pan handling, go get a job. Like sneakers,
I think after their begging, they will jump in their car with your donations and go spend it. I would rather help by purchasing them a sandwich or groceries if I felt compelled. Too many scammers out there and it is hard to tell them from the ones who actually need it.

I saw the female last week at that intersection. Neither male or female compel me to give them anything. As someone said, too many help wanted signs up for the need to beg for money on the street.

There was a "lady" in front of Leonardtown Food Lion Sunday morning who was asking everyone if they had $3 she could "borrow". I almost asked her how she can up with that amount.

"Sorry, I don't carry cash."

Latest one I saw was a woman driving through walmarts parking lot then when someone would load up their car she would stop and ask for money.

If you happen to have extra time on your hands, ask them "How did you happen to get into this dire situation?" At the very least, you are keeping them from going after others.
A lot of people say "Get a job!" when they are asked or when they comment on these people but, more often than not it is because they have a drug problem and cannot get or hold a job. Not an excuse.. just the truth.

I pulled into Walmart a couple months ago and before exiting my car, noticed an older, disheveled-looking guy browsing around the parking lot, looking for someone/something. He started to approach my car's area so I sat tight with doors locked, and as soon as he saw me I could just tell he was going to ask for cash. He opened his mouth and I immediately shouted NO ABSOLUTELY NOT. He went to speak again and I screamed it louder. Continued sitting in my car until I saw him several rows away.

:( That hurt my feelings. But I still got enough off of other folks that day to buy my poor sick wife the medcin' that's gonna save her life.

You should be ashamed.
