Sounds to me, he was speculating as to the virtue of the elder ladies
I just got off the phone with my Mom. I said, "Hey, do you remember when you'd leave me and Terry in the car when you went into the store and we'd yell 'Easy come, easy go' to the old ladies in the parking lot?"

She said it was because there was a song called, "Easy Come, Easy Go" by Bobby Sherman that was popular at the time.

Bobby Sherman was .. And a hottie too:yay:

EASY COME, EASY GO

I'm takin' the shade out of the sun
Whatever made me think that I was number one?
I oughta know easy come, easy go
I'm sittin' it out, I'm spinnin' the dial
Just thinkin' about the chump I've been
I have to smile
Didn't I know easy come and easy go

She wasn't kind, I wasn't smart
I lost my mind and fell apart
I had to find myself in time
Now I can start all over again

Just hangin' around, takin' it slow
So happy I found
I still can smile and dig the show
Lettin' me know easy come, easy go...alright

She wasn't kind, I wasn't smart
I lost my mind, I fell apart
I had to find myself in time
Now I can start all over again

Hangin' around, takin' it slow
So happy I found
I still can smile and dig the show
Lettin' me know easy come and easy go

Hangin' around, just takin' it slow
So happy I found
I still can smile and dig the show
Lettin' me know easy come and easy go

I'm hangin' around, oh takin' it slow...

On September 4, 2006, Deputy Zorana Sipos served a Criminal Summons on Bobby Raymond Davis, age 20 of Lexington Park, for the charge of Confined Unattended Child. Previously, Deputy Sarah Lacey had responded to a California shopping center for the reported unattended child inside a vehicle. Once on the scene, Deputy Lacey found a child, female age 4, was inside the vehicle unattended. The child was able to provide her name and the store into which the suspect went. A few minutes later the suspect emerged. It was confirmed that he was shopping while the child was left alone. The suspect is awaiting a Preliminary Hearing before the District Court.

Sheesh... where do these idiots come from :banghead:

I had forgotten that song and Bobby for that matter. I had to chuckle when I read this. Ooooooh, Bobby and David and Donny. My three boyfriends. :huggy:

Are you saying that you are a perfect parent?
You don't have to be a perfect parent to know some things should not be done. Why not leave a child in a car? Oh, let's see. Temperatures can be too hot or too cold so they could die from hypothermia or heat related problems. They could get out of the car, the car could get hit, and so on. Even more so, someone could carjack the car with the kids in it. The laws about leaving kids in cars is not because some government official is being anal, but because kids can get hurt, kidnapped, or something worse. These days, evil is rampant and there are too many people who don't care about children. That is why you don't leave kids in cars by themselves. I am not a perfect parent, but I certainly try to protect my kids from forseeable harm.

Thanks for the sermon....

I can't think of more than one or two people on the boards who would be that irresponsible.... I'm still not letting my 9 year old stay in the car to listen to the radio when we go places... It's likely I never will be comfortable with letting my kids out of my sight when we aren't in our house. It's just not that kind of world anymore:ohwell:

No, it's not.

When I was a kid, I'd take off on my bike and be all over the place. When I was 9 or 10, my friend and I would walk the mile to the movie theater or the swimming pool and be gone all day. No cellphones or any way for my Mom to reach me.

My girls were probably 8 or 10 before I'd even let them use a public restroom (at a restaurant or somewhere) unaccompanied.

I remember once when I was about 8, my mom's friend was watching me and had her grandaughter who was about 5 and another girl about 12. We were in Forestville at the shopping center across from the mall and we sat in the car for about an hour waiting for her to shop. Now, I dont even want to go anywhere near Forestville if I can help it :jameo:
