My 2nd replacement phone in two months..:tantrum:

At least I did not have to pay for this one. The Chocolate is a piece of crap! :ohwell:

Question?? I live in an area where the service is dead for a half mile radius around my house, is there a way to improve reception in a bad area?? It's a pain the ass to leave the house every time I send or receive a call/text.

Anyone have a G'z One yet? I head they are tough.

I think there are boosters you can put in your window but if you have no service outside I don't think that would help any.... maybe change cell provider

Verixon has the best service in the area. I can usually send texts from my daughters room, but today, nothing. The bars go up and down in waves. I have taken phone calls in my room and in certain parts fo the yard, but it's never the same place.

It's a PITA having to drive to the fire house to make a phone call and work has called me several times and I've missed it for being in the yard. Sometimes I don't get my texts 'til the next day.

My house phone line sucks too:shrug:

Hey BB, weather conditions have a big effect on cell phone signals and other radio communications. Even storms hundreds of miles away can affect our communications. Even more so in the summer when the trees all have leaves and are often wet. The signals have a hard time going through wet leaves.
Your house phone line should work well, if it doesn't, call repair and bug them until they fix it. I worked for Verizon for 30 years and they're becoming harder to deal with so stay on them (assuming that you're with Verizon).

Or switch your landline service. Verizon sucks ass.

Uh Socki, it doesn't matter who you have local phone service through, it still goes through Verizon's lines which they are responsible for. All that changes if you go through another company is who is responsible for your inside wiring and equipment. Verizon still maintains the outside lines.

Dial *228 often and do option 1 & 2 SOMEtimes it helps, but if you're in a dreaded dead zone there's usually no hope. Good luck!

Why, I have had mine since Jan. Chocolate 2 right? No problems here, just don't like how sometimes when you are talking your face can push the touch screen buttons.

Well yes but guess what happens if any one of cable's 3 features go out (internet, tv or phone)? The other ones go out too. Not my idea of a good option.

:yeahthat:

A few months ago, we had issues in our neighborhood with Comcast for over a week - internet & phone service rarely worked during that time. Of course, we live in the sticks so our cell service (AT&T) didn't work at the house. So for over a week, we couldn't be reached here. With two sick parents up in NY, that wasn't an option for us. To say I was livid is an understatement!

We switched to Verizon for both home & cell service. Home phone service has been great, cell service has been....well, better than AT&T. At least the cell phones ring now & we get texts. If we go outside, we can even use the phones - what a concept! Supposedly, they're building another cell tower about a mile from our house so we'll see what happens then. This country living is taking a lot to get used to! :lmao:

I think you are talking about something like this:
Wilson Cellular In-Building Wireless Dual-Band SOHO Cellular/PCS [AM-WL] - $499.99 : 3Gstore.com, Verizon & Sprint EVDO Modems, Antennas, Amplifiers, Routers
However, it requires at least a 2-bar strength at the outdoor antenna to make it useful.

I have had my Chocolate since Aug, last year. Gets better reception than some friends phones. I have heard some people complain about the buttons, but my phone auto locks anytime i make or receive a call. Its been dropped from about 10'+ several times, been in, water its a little scratched up but works great.

How do you lock it when you are talking?

I bought the Voyager thinking it might have a stronger antenna to pick up the signal. Nope, not any better and in fact sometimes worse. It truly sucks wind! :ohwell:
