Anyone ever heard of it? I had not until a very sweet friend of mine brought me a plant 2 weeks ago. I was feeling down and he brought this by to me. It's gorgeous but I have no clue what to do with it. It's petals are pink and it's leaves are very thick and bright green. The little tag in it just said partial sunlight in the name. I think it's supposed to go outside but I have no yard to plant it in. I have no good windows to keep it in. The kids get into plants. Any good info?

GREAT house plant. Do NOT over water it. Let it get a little dry, but not bone dry. There is a move afoot to start using them as outdoor plants. It ain't gonna survive the winter, unless it's REAL mild.

What to do with it? Look at it, enjoy it, when all the blooms are dead, throw it away! :buddies:

If I keep it inside and take good care of it will it live forever? It's so pretty. I love love love the leaves. The blooms are pretty but the leaves are something that I've never seen before.

It's a succulent, if memory serves. Yes, you can keep it but, I fail to see how that helps the economy. :shrug: :lol:

It is photosensitive and therein lies the problem; like a poinsettia or an indoor mum, getting it the shrinking natural day length needed to make it think it's time to bloom again.

Unless you're willing to manage it on a day to day basis for a month...

If it cheered you up, it's done it's job. Keep it a while and pass it to someone else who needs a lift. It'll make you happy twice.

My boss has one in his office window. When he first brought it in, it looked like it was on death's door. Now it is thriving and blooming like crazy.
