During an ice storm, years ago, we had reptiles. Electric was out. Desertrat moved all the reptiles into one room, in their cages, and I found him sitting on the middle of the bed with the kerosone heater running, trying to keep the reptiles warm. He may have been holding either the snake or some chinese dragon thing we had. I left. Feel free to copy this story and start a thread about desertrat and the reptiles. It was very sad looking.

He is a good man, but it was weird. He bought a generator the next day. :lmao: Drove up to Waldorf to get it, got it home, couldn't get it hooked up, finally found the right parts, got it all hooked up and the electric came back on an hour later after he got it hooked up after four days without any electricity. I was warm and snuggly with the boy at my friend's house. The reptiles survived.

I just hope "the rag" doesn't get hold of this. I can just see the headline. :lmao:
Wife comes home to find husband in bed with large lizard!
Actually I was sitting in the middle of the living room floor.

Lovin' Life
We have had a kerosene heater in our house for many years. We found using it every winter kept our electric bill down. Our heat pump just can't keep the house warm in the winter. Like everyone else has stated as long as you keep them maintained they're great. We wouldn't be without one. We keep ours in the basement and run it all night and turn it off when we go to work. On the weekends it goes day and night. I just replaced the wick on ours. Used to have a shop in Prince Frederick clean and replace the wick for us but they went out of business. I found out I can easily replace it myself.

Had one years ago, seriously considering buying another. Anyone still using them? Safer nowadays? Best Brands?

TIA

Used one years ago, I could never stand the smell of it.

Of course this helps you none whatsoever I know. :huggy:

My dragon is my number one concern when we lose electricity. She is scared of everyone but me. I don't mind wearing her but I'm scared I'll squish her if I fall asleep.
