If a keystroke logger is on the machine the damage is already done. It sends everything you type to the email address of the person that purchased it and set it up. If its a cybersitter then you need a password to touch it and it will block whatever the person set it up to block.
But how do you find out if there IS one. Even without removing it, just so you know its there?

Chances are if someone had installed one they don't trust you and have reason for that. If they paid money to spy on you, chances are you won't find it on your own.Do you have a computer savy friend that will come over and look?

I did that, and I didn't see anything but I know when the eBlaster was on here, it didnt show up on those things cuz I looked for it. It was some kinda hidden crap and you had to have some kinda special keystrokes to pull it up and then it had a pw. I could be wrong about something being on here.
Then, you're screwed.

It wouldnt be one that would be paid for, itd be like a free trial version or something. I don't know anyone who can look at my computer. Its not a real big deal considering I'm not doing anything wrong. Its just the principle and the thought of being treated like a child :ohwell:

Is this at work or at home? At work they can do whatever they want and there's nothing to be done. They own the computer. If its at home, then I'd figure out who would want to do that and why.

Well what did you say...you think that he suspects you are cheating or something? Are you scared of what he is going to find if he is spying?

So far so good, MS Defender, Ad-aware, both good, also check out Spybot search and destroy. Between these three no spyware should escape detection. Also I suggest AVG anti virus. Zone alarm also has free firewall software that is fairly simple to use and set up.

If you have any trouble PM me I'm a computer tech by day, mild mannered geek by night. :thickglasseswithtape:

After I run spyware and then spybot, I always end up with "3 that can't be cleaned". :ohwell:

Try booting up in safe mode first. (press F5 during bootup) Then run your scans. If it still can't be removed, you may want to write down the names and see if there is a removal tool on symantecs security response site.

Again if you need help just ask.
