Drunk Driver Tased After Resisting Arrest - Southern Maryland News, Charles County, Calvert County and St. Mary's County News
The driver exited the vehicle and appeared to be intoxicated. After exiting the vehicle, the driver was detained and placed in hand cuffs. The officer then asked the driver to perform a roadside sobriety test. Following the sobriety test, the driver was informed he was under arrest and to place his hands behind his back. The driver failed to obey the commands of the officer numerous times and proceeded toward the officers in an aggressive manner.
The suspect was then tased by officers.
The driver has been identified as Kelven Eugene Johnson, 45 of Lusby. Johnson was charged with DUI, Resisting Arrest along with a few other traffic violations.
Johnson claims he was on his way to Popeye’s Chicken because there were none in Calvert.
