Kids birthday parties

I'm stressed about what to do for my 7 year old's b-day (daughter). I thought of the bowling alley but it boils down to $15 per child for one game, couple slices of pizza, a drink and use of the table for 2hrs (up to 8 kids). Is it me or does that seem like a lot or is that the norm? Hyperspace is expensive as well and hosting one at my home is pretty much out of the question. I live in an apt. above a garage so theres really no room and no guarantee the weather will co-operate (April b-day). Any suggestions would be great. Thanks for taking the time to read.

Why not go out to dinner with the family (and anyone without kiddos) and then just let the kiddo's have a sleepover, you really don't need alot of room for that, and atthat age is usually a BIG hit...

My daughter decided on Hyperspace for her party this year. Lucky me, I'll be with 10, 9 year-olds next month. :faint:

You could rent Leonard Hall and have a skate party, or have a swim party at GM's pool. Both of those are pretty cheap and fun!

At that age they love the Little Gym. All you have to do is show up with a cake. The hostesses do all the work so you are free to take pictures. I think that we had about 15 kids for $200.

Depending upon your financial situation, hyperspace or bowling. Less money - pizza party at Nicollettis, Chucky Cheese or Mcdonalds. Maybe a nice day at the National Zoo (no admission) pack a special picnic lunch to enjoy.
I also agree with Tina, you can make it special with a sleepover, limit it to just a couple of friends, make pizza's, put in a movie and they would be happy. If you don't have the extra beds have them bring a sleeping bag & pillow.

Thanks for the ideas. I forgot about Mc D's. No base access:( I thought about having hubby drag big screen dwnstairs for a movie, decorate the garage with streamer, etc. (garage is drywalled & painted) pizzas and cake & a few 2 sleep over. Not sure how cool (temperature wise) it would b down there in April. I thought about the pool, they charge the parents of the invited if they want to stay but I guess it would b ok to expect them to pay if they did. My sis-n-law just had one there in Jan. but she paid for everybody including parents.. I cant do that. Thanks again for the ideas you've given me some new ones to consider

:yeahthat: the one in Leonardtown has the indoor playground. Think it's about $7 a kid.
I think you're right. It was 10 kids for $69 and that included a happy meal, cake, balloons, party bag, drinks.............I think that's pretty good:yay: And the play area is small enough to handle all those kids running and playing:yay::yay:

I agree about the Mc D's in Leon. being nasty. The employees are rude too. I cringe whenever my kids want me to stop there. I'm sure I'll end up doing the bowling alley thing even if I cant fathoum (spelled wrong?) how they justify $15 per child for one game of bowling and a couple slices of pizza. My daughter really seems to want to do this. We did it for her 3rd and 5th b-day but it was cheaper then.
