Kids sports in Calvert

Can anyone share their knowledge of kids sports in CC. My son will be four and is old enough to play soccer or tball. I can't seem to find much info on the net about either.

The Park and Recs program mentions Calvert American Little League, Calvert National Little League, Calvert Babe Ruth League and Calvert Tee Ball as all having tball. How do I learn more about each league? How often does tball meet for practices and games during a week?

The Calvert Soccer Association seems to have info on their site. Registration begins Jan 1 and his age meets only once a week. Which I like. He doen't need a lot of activities at this age.

I'd only like to sign him up for one of them. I just which I knew more about tball. I think he might like tball better then soccer. I might like soccer better then tball.

My last question. Do they offer tball or soccer in the fall for 4 year olds? I was thinking of signing him up for the other sport in the fall season.

Thanks

for you and the 4 year old T-Ball is a blast... it is funny to watch the entire team chase after the ball.

If you want your boy to experience a unique sport bring him up to the other CC (Charles) and I can teach him street luge and downhill skateboarding. I have all the gear for the 4 year old and you.

Thanks, I will check out those links. We live in Owings. I'd prefer to stay in the Northern end of the county. Less driving.

:yeahthat: But we'll be passing this year 'cause they'll tie me up and hang me over pictures I haven't been able to get then yet. :ohwell:

Come now. You can tell them all that you are trying to capture a few more images and then will upload them promptly. Or tell the new coach to look out for you. :duel:

For 4-year-olds, CSA has their "clinic program", called Tykes, which meets just one day a week. They do not have teams, but meet as a larger group to work on basic skills, then break up into smaller groups for several mini games and such. Both of my kids did this and liked it alot. There is usually one head coach, with several assistants to help out, usually college or high school aged kids that grew up playing soccer. They were all good with the kids and everyone seemed to have a good time. I will tell you, though, that Tykes fills up very fast, so if you want to do it, then you need to sign up quickly.
