The advise I can give you, is when you go pick a name. Think of how it is going to sound in a professional job, That is how I picked my children names. The names you picked I like.

Libby, Savanna, Sydney, Skylar.

They are cute names. To me.

Good luck

:howdy: Hi! This is just like the one before except I'm 35 weeks along with a girl! It's my first!

Everyone is bugging me for a name but I can't decide. I didn't know it would be this hard! I have a couple I like at least a little (Autumn and Gabrielle) but I just don't know. I don't want anything too common but I don't want a really strange one either. Anyone have any suggestions?

What happens when she grows up and if she gets married and the guy's last name is Winter?!

Serious note, some names sound cute when the child is 3, but not when they are 33 (like Autumn). How would it sound on a business card? Would you prefer going to a dentist (or other professional) whose name is Autumn "Lastname" or Gabrielle "Lastname?"

Brittany is cute at 4 but not 40. Sarah, Gabrielle, Catherine, and other like names might be common, but Grandma Sarah sounds better than Grandma Brittany........

That is why I hate trendy names.

I like Autumn. I would be fine with a dentist named Autumn. At least I can pronounce it.

Umm, Elliot is a masculine name.

Agreed. But it seems to be the trend to give boys names to girls (my cousin named her kid Dylan (HATE TRENDY NAMES) and it is a girl). The other one is Riley, which seems to be a generic name, but I still think it is a boys name (ANOTHER TRENDY NAME ).

I realize names go through cycles, like Jennifer was a popular name in the 70's/early 80's and there are names that were "back in the day" that are no longer popular (think some of the names for females during the Salem Witch Trails). I think some of these names that are common now that are trendy like Dylan, Riley, McKenzie, etc will soon not be cool and I think that is why people are FINALLY going back to regular names like Sadie, Isobel, and other tradional girls names.
