Kitten question

But wait, there's more...
It may not be a formal 'gift certificate' lined in tissue paper with embossed lettering ... it might just be a reciept for payment they give you to give her to bring in. But they probably won't turn the money down once you explain the circumstances.

Sorry for the confusion, I thought you were implying that I pay the vet bill AND give a gift certificate. She lives in VA so I can't do the pay first option or I'd gladly help. I mentioned the cooked chicken, rice and cottage cheese recipie, she will try that tonight.

As much of a whiz at this internet thing as you seem, I'd think you'd be able to locate a vet in the area and just give 'em your credit card number over the phone.

I'm not at internet thing whiz at all... computers is not my bag -- software for work is a different story.

I wasn't aware you could prepay for a vet visit over the phone without the vet's diagnosis of the problem and the meds that would be perscribed. I'll look into this for VA.. thanks! I guess I should just slap down 100.00 and hope I get the balance of what ever is left.
thanks!

Dems, before you go paying for the vet make sure you have really assessed the situation correctly first.

Is it that she would really like to take the cat to the vet, but has no cash flow until payday or is it that she doesn't see the point in going to the vet, if all the vet is going to do is tell her to get some OTC meds, that she could've gotten anyway, from the local pet store or by searching for a solution on the internet.

If it's the first, she'll be gratful, if it's the second, she'll be insulted.

From my take on the situation, I think its both... she wants to take the cat to the vet but money is tight right now and then as an alternative would like to try something over the counter first was how I was understanding it. Good point though and well taken on your post. It would be an insult if she wants a quick fix if one exists first... Then, she'll probably ask me "dems - what's next??!!? WTF???!! ... are you going to prepay and schedule my kids dr. visits too??" :lmao:

I'm not questioning the woman's fitness to be a pet owner, just maybe the interpretation of the issue. Maybe the woman's just biatching in advance that she's expecting the vet to do nothing, yet charge her for it. Which is a waste of money in anyone's book.

Ok now that I got that off my mind. Catt has some great ideas..NO milk. I would take food away for 12 hours and give water then start back with rice and chicken or bland food as Catt said. I would keep the kitten locked in a cage or bathroom to keep an eye on it. If it has yellow greasy smelly diarrhea it probably has coccidia and needs to be treated. I would think that with what you are saying you would not rack up too much of a vet bill. A stool check should tell you what you need. Mabie a blood test. Again the Well Pet Clinic is probably the way to go [/B][/QUOTE]

Thanks I'll pass this info along.

Well, I can think of a few threads that were started by you that contained less substance

I'm not debating that fact.:ohwell: However, somebody has to entertain around here or we'll be subjected to 'Sick Kitty' threads forever more.

I wasn't debating that. I just found the first sentence to be funny is all. I'd pet the kitten, I like to hear them purr.:blushing:

I got a laugh at the "rotor rooter to the cat's peter" It even makes me laugh when I type it. Poor cat.

Kitty cha cha cha might be distemper too. Ensure baby is getting enough water, even if she has to force feed it to her, via syringe without needle into the mouth.

Yikes for kitten.
