knee pads

mmmmhmmmmm
Has anyone ever tried baby knee pads? I have a baby who is starting to crawl and we have mostly wood floors in our house. Thought it would feel better if she had some cushion. Is it a waste of money?

Waste...my kid is crawling and he loves the wood floor and he has never acted like crawling on it bothers him.

I love hearing his little hands on the wood floor slapping it as he comes down the hallway.

Kids have been crawling for millions of years without kneepads. I think they are a waste. I got sucked into buying alot of stuff with my first child. Most of the things were used once, proven to be useless and then given away to some other mom who "thought she had to have them".

She loves to slap the floor with her hand. When I pick her up her knees are red and chafed. She has never cried but it looks like it hurts. When I get on my knees on the wood floor (just to play with her, nothing dirty), it hurts my knees. Someone told me that babies don't have knee caps so it doesn't bother them but I havn't looked that up to see if she was right.

If it's not bothering her I wouldn't worry about it. She'll be walking soon, and it won't be an issue anymore.

I heard the same thing also. Not sure if true or not. I do know they don't have the same nerve endings we do yet. When mine got a spinal tap, my husband was concerned b/c he had one and hit hurt like heck but the dr explained they don't have the nerve endings we have yet.

Also with all the chunk his legs, he has plenty of cusion.
