This person is close to my family, and NOTHING has been done. I would appreciate it if you could post some replys on that site. If it were your child, you would see this needs to be addressed. Thank you.

Doesn't surprise me.

Let me say, this type of response doesn't represent Charles County Public Schools as a whole nor most of it's schools.

La Plata High School administrators failed to do their jobs, plain and simple. CCPS schools are some of the safest schools and are usually very quick to react positively in a situation like this.

I can picture a lawyer rubbing their hands together and wanting to call the parents of the two victims here shortly.

no legal action is going to be taken,, its about the children here. multiple people were stabbed,,, or poked, whatever the term you want to use, but it infact broke the skin and blood was present. now, you take that needle and poke several other kids,,, transfering fluids. now we love charles county, but damn we know we all are not the cleanist people! not only do the kids need to take the neccessary precautions, but this type of stuff should not happen.

Things have sure changed since I was growing up, I would have beat the livin' crap out of her on the spot or on her way home. When an older kid, a boy, picked on me my older brother beat him bloody the next day. Kids pulled less of this crap when teachers wielded paddles with holes drilled in them to reduce drag.

The girl who did this obviously INTENDED to harm someone. I'm sorry but that qualifies as a stabbing to me.

A friends son and another student unintentionally "vandalized" (as the school said, they broke something due to horseplay) and got 2 days each suspension, a police report and had to pay damages. They reported what they did and offered to pay damages immediately. The school said "policy" was to file a police report so now they have a mark on their records - overkill in my opinion.

This is clearly way worse and she only gets an hour of suspension?!?!?!?
Those kids deserved an hour this girl needs expulsion! It may have been a judgement error on her part as she's young but please, she cannot be trusted to not harm another. Her parents should have to find another means of education for her, good student or not.

exactly! people get one day suspension for having a Cell Phone. You can stab multiple people and get off with a single hour of ISR. Crazy. Please put some feedback on the article. i am still amazed at this.

Our principal had a paddle which was known as the "board" of education.

That is a good point. My co-workers daughter was suspended for using her phone (texting in class) and this girl goes around stabbing/poking people w/a needle and gets an hour.

Has the school district made any commnets

Adding insult to injury is that the other girl is still trying to bully her! This girl’s parents would be getting a very hostile visit from me if that happened to one of my kids. I’d like to see a pic of the perp, just to see if my mental image is spot on.

I got suspended from LPHS for skipping 2 classes in one day! This girl only got 1 hour of in school for stabbing multiple people with needles!?!??!? Ridiculous. I've heard terrible things have gone down at that school since Don Cooke left and Garth Bowling came in. They should get rid of Bowling and find someone who will actually protect the students!

This girl is PATHETIC! Years ago my children went to Middle School with Garth Bowling as the Principal. THis man is a JOKE~! My son got suspended for 3 days for rough houseing in the hallway with friends..........and this little witch can remain in school with ISR?????????? PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! Garth Bowling has no spine and should be relieved of his job immediately. It was obvious years ago and still obvious now that he plays favorites and plays to certain members of the School Board. This man is a spineless wimp! He should have IMMEDIATELY called and made a police report and has this student suspended - if not expelled. This is a very serious situation and there's ol Garth doing what he does best............sittin on his butt!

When my wife was a kid she was stabbed by one of those needles on a compass. She ended up in the hospital fir 2 weeks with a staph infection.They gave her penicilin which it turns out she was allergic to and almost died.

Just a little poke can result in disaster.
