I noticed that when I was looking at Celebrity. I don't necessarily drink a ton, but I have to confess I drink more of the pricier stuff (read: scotch and better wines) - it tends to add up at 6-10 drinks a day (cruise level of drinking at $10-$12 a drink). The wife doesn't drink as much, but she will get to 3-5 drinks a day at $8-$10 a drink.

That is just the booze - we also drink a ton of bottle water, specialty coffee, and other stuff, too, which Celebrity includes in that package.

Exactly. That is why we ordered the premium package. We were able to take bottled water off the ship for our port for all of us (6 people) It was great. We made nice w/ the bartenders (slipped them some extra $) and they gave us some beers we put in our cooler and enjoyed at the beach also

I usually just drink beer but having the package allowed me to be more expirimental. Where normally I would be leery about ordering certain things especially martinis. I was able to try several different drinks w/ the package. Some I liked...others not so much lol

You arent supposed to but the bar tenders did allow us to order the kids virgin daquris, mudslides, and red bulls which was nice also. They got a kick out of that to have a froofy drink once a day :yay:

I'm the same way. Embarrassed to say this but our bar tab alone would have been $1400, w/ the packages we only paid $700. Not to shabby

I don't drink a ton, but I was at the bar by 9:30/10 on some mornings ordering my pina colada. On this last sailing they had 2-for-1 daiquiris in one of the bars. Guess where we camped out for a while?

W/ out the kids I am sure you did :otter:

I opted for mimosa's & Bellini's in the AM, Big B had Bloody Marys, Greyhounds, Screwdrivers, & coffee drinks w/ liquor.

We order drinks that early when we have the girls with us, too. And this cruise made me realize just how much I like having them w/us. I don't think I could ever do another one w/out having my baby with me.

I enjoy having my daughter along a lot except for her wanting to get moving too early. :yay:

What's too early? We were up by 6:30 every day, sitting on our balcony watching the sun come up and the water flow by. Aaah! We're looking at taking a cruise in December but I'm not sure if I want go RCI or CCL.

Thinking of doing a 4-5 days out of Canaveral with Disney on one end and Universal on the other for Christmas.

Why you gonna hurt me, woman? For taking another cruise?

Awwww...yea me not so much. It was nice having the kids. But an entirely different experience w/ out. I guess since we have so many that makes a difference

Price them all out and go w./ the best value & itinerary. Unfortunately December is such a popular month for families to cruise a) you will need to book early & b) you will pay a bit more than normal.

Actually, we chose December because it is a LOT cheaper than sailing in the summer or during spring break. I had given some thought to November during Thanksgiving but quickly thought of all the kids we would be dealing with. Our August cruise was loaded with children and our cruise last week was soooo nice you hardly knew there were any on-board. I'm not ruling out November entirely because the prices are good, but December works better for us.

:lalala: Too many kids!! :lalala:

I actually read through a picture review on CC the other day. They have A LOT of adult only areas. It looked really really nice. But there were certain areas the family pool for example was really packed! Sail away was just crazy. I;d still like to give it a try since the little ones are so into Disney & the Princesses

I could never convince Big B to do one of those. Like you he doesnt like crowds and a ton of kids around.

Well yea than sailing in the summer it is cheaper  We sail in the off times because we can make our $ stretch further that way. I dont mind pulling the kids from school, we get their work and set aside time on the ship while at sea to get it done.

Having done 7 full days I cant do anything less. Its spoiled me. Same thing w/ balconies. My parents always told me never get a balcony. I know why now!

Not on Disney Cruiseline. I mean we may go on a Royal Caribbean between going to Disney for 3-4 days and going to Universal for 3-4 days after.

Oh, whew! For a minute I thought you went bonkers!! In August we stayed an overnight after our cruise and visited Islands of Adventure. The 'Harry Potter' ride is incredibly awesome!

We made the mistake of going to the Harry Potter section the month it opened when sailing out of Canaveral last time. Talk about ridiculous wait times. Didn't get to do everything, but we got through the rest of the park with ease because everyone was at Harry Potter.

That was the time we went on the Freedom.

Monarch of the Seas does short sailings out of Canaveral.

:boo: That was the first sailing we went on 10 years ago and it was OLD then. That is also the ship my parents last went on w/ RCL. They have been on 25 cruises w/ RCL (41 total) They said it was absolutely HORRIBLE.
