Well I think you guys are right. I would feel better getting the dress in the store. I just have to find a store I really like. I liked Marlenes Bridal in Dunkirk but its really far to travel for fittings. I don't care for the one here in town. They are snooty and wouldn't even tell me who designed the dress b/c they thought I would take my business elsewhere. Well if I do its not b/c of that. They are also more expensive than anyone else I went to also. Well thanks for your advice.

I must have been to one of the same places you went to, b/c they also wouldn't tell me the designer of the gown. I hated that! Plus, even though it was a local store there was still no exchanges or returns unless there was a flaw in the gown. I'd certainly pay for piece of mind and pay the extra for that sucker. In all the $$ that you throw down for a wedding, $300 isn't that much in the big scheme of things. I'm being very practical and frugal, and still agree you should pay more to KNOW for sure you are pleased. I ended up purchasing my gown at David's, got a great deal, and can exchange it if need be...which is a good thing b/c I lost 25 pounds since I bought it, and need to trade it for the next lower size. I already went in and tried the next lower, just need to get back up to make the actual trade - but I'll be darned if I was heading up there with the sniper saga, lol!

Spend the bucks. I hope it is the ONLY time you get married. If you have to have any serious alterations, a good seamstress could cost you $300.

VERY good point!

Don't buy your dress online. There is a nice bridal shop in Forestville I think  I'll ask my sister, but she got her dress for about 1/2 of what it cost elsewhere.

Well I am not going to buy my dress online but I am going to get my veil there. They want 200.00 for the one I want and I found it online for 99.00. I figure its kind of hard to screw that up unless my head shrinks. Plus they had a return policy so that worked out great.

Yes I solved the DJ thing. I went with Davis DJ's and I am happy with that. Hopefully all will work out.

Make sure you go over the names in your party several times with the DJ. We used Davis DJ's and we went over all the names and the guy still got them wrong.

you can have a dress steamed at any of the dry cleaners in the area, there are several seamstresses also in the area that can do alterations , buy the gown larger then you need its easier to take in then let out
